Brow hairs and eyelashes aren't the same, so why should their curling lotions be? This second step of the Ruthie Belle Brow Lift Treatment is a gentle curling lotion that would please even the most discerning of lash enthusiasts — except this one's made exclusively for brows!
- Gentle enough to come in contact with skin
- Formulated specifically for brow hairs
- Effective for re-shaping brow hair keratin
- Easily sculpt brows into your client's preferred shape
- Effect lasts approximately 4 weeks
Ruthie Belle's Brow Lift Curling Lotion gently softens the keratin inside the brow hair so that you, the lash artist, can reshape it!
Eyebrows can be a bit trickier than lashes, since different parts of the brow have unique growth patterns. Some eyebrows hairs grow straight up, while the ones near the top naturally grow sideways or even downward. And those cute little crosshairs are always the most stubborn ones of all!
Begin applying curling lotion from the top of the eyebrow and work your way down, so that the most stubborn areas have the longest processing time. At this stage, don't worry about getting all the brow hairs placed in the right direction. Instead, focus on getting a generous amount of product evenly applied to every hair. Since Ruthie Belle's lotions are so gentle, you'll need to use a generous amount of product to achieve the desired result.
Once you've finished applying the product, immediately cover brows with a layer of cling film — and a heating mask for best results! When applying the cling film be careful not press down — that way you can avoid accidentally spreading the product too thin.
Process brows between 8-12 minutes. Check on how the treatment is progressing by gently lifting a corner of the cling film and brushing brows straight up. If brows remain straight up, that means they've processed enough.
**A note about processing times**
Curling lotion processing time depends entirely on the coarseness of the hair and how dramatically the growing direction needs to change. If your client has especially coarse and/or stubborn brows, more time will be required to achieve the required effect.
Once brows have finished processing, remove residue with a clean cotton pad or q-tip.
Ruthie Belle's Brow Lift Curling Lotion is Step 2 of the 4 Step Brow Lift. Brow Lift Curling Lotion is preceded by our Easy Lift Lash Primer, and followed by Ruthie Belle's Fixing Lotion and Shine Repair.
The effect will last approximately 4 weeks, but due to the gentleness of the ingredients, the Brow Lift procedure can be repeated at any time, as long as there's a 7 day buffer between treatments. See the FAQ (below) for more details.

- Does Brow Lift Curling Lotion require patch testing?
Brow Lift Curling Lotion does not require patch testing due to the medical-grade quality products used in our formula. Instead, we encourage Lash Artists to regularly communicate with the client to ensure there's no pain or irritation. If the client is experiencing discomfort, stop the treatment and remove the product immediately.
- Can I use Brow Lift for performing lash lifts and vice versa?
Curling Lotion isn't meant to be used directly on skin because there's such a high risk of irritation. One of the reasons that Ruthie Belle's Brow Lifting Lotion is so special is because the formula is gentle enough to be used directly on skin without fear of irritation. But if you're looking for a lifting lotion that's gentle and versatile enough for use on both lashes and brows, you can't do better than Ruthie Belle's Organic Lifting Lotion!
- What is the difference between lifting lotion and perming lotion?
They're exactly the same thing! Lifting lotion is another name for perming lotion, and vice versa.
- I used this lotion but the brow hairs bounced back into their original position after the treatment. Am I doing something wrong?
Brow hairs should stay exactly where you want them. If they bounce back to their original position, it's because the keratin was not softened enough and the brows needed a little longer curling lotion processing time. It's best to leave a 7 day buffer between treatments, but once a week has passed, you'll be able to repeat the procedure so you can achieve the desired result!
